Volunteering at MapAction

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us.

Our annual recruitment of volunteers is now open. The deadline for applications is 25 July 2021.

At MapAction you can use your professional skills and experience to make a difference and save lives.

Our volunteers are central to our work so we recruit people in small numbers to specific roles that we know are needed and will have a big impact. You will be part of a close-knit team and will undergo significant training which will allow you to apply your skills and knowledge in complex humanitarian situations.

Many experts stay volunteering with us long term, so only a handful of new opportunities arise each year.

Our volunteers are experts in their field, bring unique skills and come from a variety of backgrounds.

We are currently looking for specialists in Data Science, Data Engineering and Design.

More information about volunteering with us is below. You can apply here. If you have any questions and would like to speak to one of the team or current volunteers, please contact us

Our team of around 100 people, mostly expert volunteers, strives to ensure governments, regional, and local disaster management agencies and humanitarian responders have access to the information and analysis that they need to make key decisions, at the right times, to save lives and alleviate suffering.

We are always seeking improvement; developing new technologies and approaches to ensure the data, maps and tools that are essential in humanitarian crises are prepared ahead of time and made available as quickly as possible.

We are looking for new team members to support our new developments and aspirations, and share our journey, vision and values.
