We enable organisations to improve their use of maps and data in effective and innovative ways to assist all aspects of humanitarian work.

This includes emergency response, emergency preparedness and anticipatory action.

• Emergency Response: We provide surge support, both on site and remotely as the situation requires, to provide decision-makers with maps and visualisations to make sense of fast changing disaster zones, ensuring aid goes where it is most needed.
• Anticipatory Action: We work with Start Network partners and INFORM Standards, to ensure that national and local disaster management authorities can implement anticipatory action programmes.
• Training: We deliver and support workshops and training on disaster preparedness, response management and much more. We have led over 400 workshops worldwide.
• Data Science & Innovation: We implement, lead and collaborate on developing innovations in humanitarian data science in partnership with UN, INGO and academic institutes. Software developers and data engineers also contribute to unlocking key information management barriers.
• Health: MapAction works with UNICEF and CartONG in Central and West Africa to identify unvaccinated children using geo-spatial technology. MapAction is also involved in other health projects in Africa and Asia.
