In July 2019, the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO) became a funding partner of MapAction in an exciting and broad-ranging programme of work. This has enabled us to remain at the vanguard of humanitarian response but also, vitally, to overhaul our technical offer. It has included developments such as:

Responding to multiple humanitarian emergencies each year, with mapping, data and information management support. 

Building an Anticipatory Action programme, focused on helping national and sub-national authorities to apply INFORM sub-national Risk Modelling, and analysis about vulnerability.

Developing MapAction’s Data Science capability, enabling us to build a partnership with the UNOCHA Center for Humanitarian Data, and other organisations, to improve geospatial data insights.
