OCHA humanitarian icons

In August 2012, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) created a set of 500 freely available humanitarian icons to help relief workers present emergency and crisis-related information quickly and simply. See more at: World: Humanitarian and Country Icons 2012.

MapAction has been using these icons in many of its maps and converted the icons so that can be used in ArcGIS and QGIS.

Version 2.0

Version 2.0 can be downloaded here – OCHA Humanitarian Icons for GIS v2.0 or you may visit the GitHub page.

These are “free for use”. Whenever possible please  credit as follows: “Source: OCHA & MapAction”.

Note: Version 2.0 of the OCHA Humanitarian icons for ArcGIS and QGIS are incompatible with previous releases. Fonts and style files from previous releases should be uninstalled before the current version is installed, by following the steps in the User Guide.

Following installation of version 2.0 of the icons, any ArcMap Document (.mxd) or QGIS Project (.qgs) files that reference a previous version of the icons will need to be amended.
